It can be equipped with RS485 communication interface and remote computer for bidirectional communication. This protector can protect against various CT secondary side abnormal overvoltages. It can greatly avoid the harm caused by abnormal overvoltage on the secondary side of current transformers, and is usually used for overvoltage protection of differential windings, overcurrent windings, measuring windings, bus protection windings, backup windings, etc. on the CT secondary side.
The protector is connected to both ends of the CT secondary winding. When the CT secondary side is normal, the protector itself is in a high resistance state with minimal leakage current, which does not affect the normal operation of other electrical equipment on the secondary side. When abnormal overvoltage occurs on the CT secondary side due to various reasons, the protector quickly acts to short-circuit the CT secondary side and minimize the occurrence of related accidents.
Current Transformer (CT) is widely used in power systems to convert large currents into specified small currents, and is widely used for primary measurement, protection, and control. It is an essential component for ammeters, kilowatt hour meters, and current control systems. When the current transformer is working normally, the secondary side is in an approximately short-circuit state and the output voltage is very low. If the secondary winding is open during operation, or if an abnormal current flows through the primary winding (such as lightning current, resonant overcurrent, capacitor charging current, inductor starting current, etc.), it will generate thousands or even tens of thousands of volts of overvoltage on the secondary side. This not only poses a hazard to the secondary insulation, but also causes the transformer to overheat and burn out, and even endangers the lives of workers.
